LMBA is affiliated with Regina Minor Softball and Softball Sask under the umbrella of Softball Canada.
Our objective is simple, to provide every player with the opportunity to play, learn and have fun! We aim to do this by:

1.  Play with top quality coaches:

  • All LMBA coaches must obtain the qualifications set by Baseball/Softball Sask for provincial level of play.  Lumsden Minor Ball supports the coaches financially by covering the cost of the necessary clinics.  Quality coaches ensure skill development and proper techniques, enhancing the experience and development of all players.

2.  Play at your level (This ensures that every player is able to enjoy the game with players of comparable skill):

  • Rally Cap Division has two levels based on age and skill (Junior Rookie-7U and Senior Rookie-9U)
  • Baseball - 11U, 13U, 15U and 18U teams are formed at AAA, AA, and A levels.
  • Softball - 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U and 17U teams are formed at A & B levels - as long as interest and registration numbers support it.
  • Learn to Play is 5U

3.  Teams are formed with a similar level of skill and commitment:

  • Teams are formed by an evaluation process.
  • Once placed on a team, that team will remain together for the entire season (staying together promotes greater opportunities for building team camaraderie and friendships).

4.  Focus on skill development for everyone

5.  Play teams in and outside of Regina:

  • A level teams typically plays teams approximately 50 kms of Regina
  • AA level teams typically plays teams approximately 120 kms of Regina
  • AAA level teams typically plays teams Province wide with no mileage limit (2.5 to 4 hours in 18U)

6.  Play in Provincial and National competitions:

  • Because of our involvement with Baseball/Softball Sask, Lumsden Minor Ball teams are able to compete in provincial playoffs and, if successful, advance further to Western championships (as a team), and National championships for individuals who are successful in the try out process with Team Sask.

7. Lumsden Minor Ball Association is a Non-Profit Organization, fees are determined by:

  • League Team Fees
  • Uniforms
  • Equipment and Insurance to cover same
  • Evaluations
  • Coaching and Umpire Clinics
  • Diamond Costs
  • Bank fees and Office supplies
  • Website Fees
  • Player Insurance

LMBA volunteer board is diligently working on behalf of our members to keep the costs to play baseball as low as possible while ensuring that our athletes are playing in a fun and safe environment.
